Lyrics or Long Live by Taylor Swift
I said remember this moment in the back of my mind The time we stood with our shaking hands The crowds in stands went wild We were the Kings and the Queens And they read off our names The night you danced like you knew our lives Would never be the same You held your head like a hero On a history book page It was the end of a decade But the start of an age Long live the walls we crashed through How the kingdom lights shined just for me and you I was screaming long live all the magic we made And bring on all the pretenders One day, we will be remembered I said remember this feeling I pass the pictures around Of all the years that we stood there On the side-lines wishing for right now We are the Kings and the Queens You traded your baseball cap for a crown When they gave us our trophies And we held them up for our town And the cynics were outraged Screaming, "This is absurd!" Cause for a moment a band of thieves In ripped up jeans got to rule the world Long live the walls we crashed through How the kingdom lights shined just for me and you I was screaming long live all the magic we made And bring on all the pretenders I'm not afraid Long live all the mountains we moved I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you I was screaming long live that look on your face And bring on all the pretenders One day, we will be remembered Hold on to spinning around Confetti falls to the ground May these memories break our fall Will you take a moment, promise me this That you'll stand by me forever But if God forbid fate should step in And force us into a goodbye If you have children some day When they point to the pictures Please tell them my name Tell them how the crowds went wild Tell them how I hope they shine Long live the walls we crashed through I had the time of my life, with you Long, long live the walls we crashed through How the kingdom lights shined just for me and you And I was screaming long live all the magic we made And bring on all the pretenders I'm not afraid Singing, long live all the mountains we moved I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you And long, long live the look on your face And bring on all the pretenders One day, we will be remembered |

Simile "The night you danced like you knew our lives" This phrase is a simile because it's comparing the night that they danced with their lives. The comparison was made using two unlike things using the word "like", implying that it is a simile. Simile "You held your head like a hero." This phrase is a simile because it compares the head to a hero, showing how brave and courageous it is. The comparison was made using two dissimilar things using "like". Metaphor: "We are the Kings and the Queens." This phrase implies that it is a metaphor because it compares the two people in this song to kings and queens. It is a comparison between different things without using the word like or as. The we was defined earlier in this song. Personification: "My these memories break our fall." This phrase is personification because memories can't literally break and fall. This is an action only humans can do blatantly. This gives human like characteristics to the memories to a non-human like thing. Alliteration: "Long live.." This phrase shows alliteration because it has the same consonant sound in both words. The "l" is repeated showing the definition of alliteration that all letters are the same in close connecting words. Allusion (not presented) Dedicated to MercutioThis song is dedicated to Mercutio. This perfectly describes our relationship and all the times we went though. I specifically dedicated this to Mercutio because he was a true and honest companion that stuck by my side. We were practically everywhere together no matter what. Although we argued sometimes here and there, and Mercutio would get on my nerves so much that it would make me irritated. All in all, Mercutio was a great friend, almost as close as a brother. However, I too, realized my selfishness and my greed to always thinking of Mercutio as ignorant and someone who constantly told others what to do. I didn't think about the little things he was trying to tell me. When Romeo was wandering around Verona, he helped me realize the importance of the little things too. I guess overall, I was being a bit stingy and stubborn and realized the true meaning of what he wanted to do for me. This song is for you, and although you aren't down here on earth, you'll always remain in my heart. Your death makes my heart grieve, but I'll always remember of the good times. WIth love, Benvolio.
